When I first heard about lasik eye surgery, I was really apprehensive about the operation because I was afraid of having worse vision or even going blind as a result. I was even advised by my friend, a doctor, not to go through with it. However, after speaking with another friend who had had the lasek operation, I decided that it wouldn't hurt just to go in for a consultation.
From the moment I walked into the waiting room of the Dream Eye Center in Myeongdong, I felt welcomed by the kind staff. The waiting time wasn't too long before I was led through a series of eye tests, the most thorough eye exam that I'd ever experienced. It literally took 1.5 hours and then another 30 minutes to meet with the eye doctor to answer my questions. I had done my own extensive research about lasik/lasek eye surgery and had prepared many questions and concerns. My doctor was Dr. Jung and he was very honest in his answers, something I truly respect. He did not try to cover the fact that there are some definite dangers to eye surgery, but reassured me with his high success rate and even gave me options in case anything went wrong.
I went ahead and made an appointment. Prior to my lasek eye surgery, I did more research on Dr. Jung and the Dream Eye Center because I still felt uneasy. I even e-mailed Mun-Ju, the staff member assigned to me, several times to reconfirm Dr. Jung's credentials and experience. She was very prompt in all my responses and was very reassuring. I even found out through her that Dr. Jung had performed eye surgeries on other doctors working at the center. At this point, I felt that if other doctors trusted him, why shouldn't I?
After my lasek eye surgery, I was in a lot of pain. I had to wear sunglasses even with the dimmest light indoors. However, I was fine after the third day. I had minor glares at night for the first couple of weeks, but that has all subsided. My eyes healed rapidly and I can see so much better than I ever did even with glasses, but I still have regular check-ups at the Dream Eye center. I will be returning to the USA in the next couple of months, but I feel satisfied and reassured that if I incur any problems in the future, I can come back to the Dream Eye Center at no cost whatsoever. I highly recommend the Dream Eye Center because of their quality customer service, low cost, and professionalism. They truly pride themselves on their great work. Thank you for an awesome experience
