1. What convinced you to go through the Lasik/Lasek surgery? And what made you to choose Dream Eye Clinic?
I’ve always worn glasses and it was time for a change. A personal friend had the surgery done at the Myeongdong Dream Eye Clinic and highly recommended the surgery and the clinic. He told me if I was even considering Lasek then I should go along and get tested to see if I was suitable for surgery. I was very impressed with the clinic when I went for my eye test. My tester (Ji ye) was incredibly kind, informative and gently guided me through the battery of tests. The tests were very extensive and detailed. They left no corner unturned. The level of expertise convinced me that these were the right people to entrust with my eyes.
2. Tell us about what has changed since you had your Lasik / Lasek surgery. What are the major changes comparing your life before and after the surgery?
The change since surgery is a combination of lots of little things. The convenience of never needing to think about glasses. Never having to fumble for them in the dark. Being able to see the clock in an instant without having to squint. Playing sports without goggles or contacts. I wish I could had it done as a teenager. Think of all the money I could have saved on pairs of glasses and lenses!
3. Were there any inconveniences during the recovery process? And tell us about how satisfied you are with your newly improved vision.
On the day of surgery I could barely see and my eyes watered constantly. There was some mild discomfort but nothing a few Advils couldn’t handle. On the second day, things had improved and I could read poorly for short periods. On the third day I could manage to see enough to read, watch TV or use a computer. After that my vision began to steadily improve. I was glad I wasn't working for the first week but it probably would have been possible from day 4 on. Simply follow the eye drop treatments and you should be fine. Six months on and my eyesight in daylight and nighttime are perfect. I had been afraid of having night blindness or shadows when driving but Dream Eye did a superb job.
4. What were the most valuable and rememberable experiences at Dream Eye Clinic?
The doctors/nurses and staff were really kind to me and explained the situation in great detail. After the surgery I experienced some discomfort and felt a little worried but the weekly visits put me at ease. They are always available for an examination and the wait times are not bad. The personal treatment really made me feel at ease. The doctors/nurses and staff continue to greet me and make me feel welcome even 6 months on.
5. Finally, what else do you want to tell us (our medical staffs, doctors, and nurses)? (Anything is OK including some of your wishes that may inform us to improve ourselves.
I was really satisfied with the very professional service at the clinic. I was very relieved that all the staff, nurses and doctors spoke fluent English. It wasnt like some hospitals were the doctor barely speaks English and nothing from the nurses. The only recommendation I have to change the e-mail and text messages sent out by the clinic into English for English patients, since I couldn’t always understand the Korean e-mails or text message reminders and updates.
I continue to recommend your centre to anyone who wears glasses and wants to throw off their "shackles". Keep doing what you're doing Dream Eye.
