Everyone at the Dream Eye Clinic in Gangnam seems really nice and friendly, and every visit has been a pleasant one. Their whole office looks bright and clean (before and after the procedure), and they have a few laptops set up so you can get on the Internet if you're waiting. And they have evening and weekend hours, so my consultation, surgery, and followup appointments have never conflicted with work.
I had LASEK surgery, as opposed to LASIK. I admit, I was a little nervous because while I could see well enough to get around the day after surgery, it was a few weeks before I could read comfortably, but they said that was in the normal recovery range for LASEK. And then within a couple of days my vision cleared right up, and I have perfect eyesight without glasses.
It's kind of funny not having glasses anymore -- I'm slowly getting over the feeling that I forgot something every time I leave my apartment. I still try to adjust them sometimes, even though they're not there. And my students somehow look a little smaller than before, but I'm getting used to it :) Those things are fun because they remind me that I did something cool for myself, but the best thing is beginning to forget the whole glasses thing entirely. When a headache is gone, you don't spend a lot of time thinking about it -- you just go about whatever you would have been doing anyway with a little less to distract you, and that's what I get to do now.
If anybody I know wants to get eye surgery, I'll be recommending this clinic.
