Ok they're not really new, but they feel new! I was hesitant about getting laser surgery and actually waited an entire year after my initial consultation to go through with it. I realized in the end that it was worth the discomfort for a few days to be done with contacts for good. So I did it. The cost was half of what it would be for me to get laser surgery back home. And the nurses and doctors were so friendly. Seriously, they have the best customer service I've ever experienced.
The process was actually quite difficult for me after the surgery. I was incredibly uncomfortable for the 3 days after surgery. It would come and go in waves. I got through it by downloading some audio books and laying in bed. I was able to go out after the 3rd day. However, I wasn't able to read anything close up, especially my computer screen, for about 2 weeks after the surgery. I didn't expect this, so I was really frustrated. But after that, things started to slowly improve. By week three, I was functioning normally, but still had trouble reading as my vision would blur in and out. By this time, I was on blogs and searching all over the internet to see if this was normal or not. Of course, it was. By a month after the surgery, things were great.
Now, I have better than 20/20 vision, I can go swimming and open my eyes underwater without worry about contacts, I can wake up and see, and it is glorious. My husband who has perfect vision is often baffled that I can read signs farther away than he can. It's great.
Thanks a lot Dream Eye Center! You changed my life!
