What convinced you to go through the Lasik/Lasek surgery? And what made you to choose Dream Eye Clinic?
After 15 years of wearing glasses, I wanted to free myself from corrective lenses. With Lasik, I could revert back to a more natural look permanently and without the worry of complications from contact use. I did not want to have to keep getting new glasses every couple of years. With a permanent solution like Lasik, I would never have to wear glasses full-time ever again. I chose Dream Eye Clinic because so many other foreigners had had surgery there. Dream Eye Clinic was also more able to cater to foreigners than other clinics.
Tell us about what has changed since you had your Lasik / Lasek surgery. What are the major changes comparing your life before and after the surgery?
Since the surgery, I have not needed to wear glasses, which has been a big relief. Since the surgery, I have felt better about myself because I no longer have glasses covering my face. I don’t have to worry about where I put my glasses or what I would do if something were to happen to them. I feel more confident since having the surgery.
Were there any inconveniences during the recovery process? And tell us about how satisfied you are with your newly improved vision.
For about a week after the surgery, while I wore the eye shields at night, I would wake up in the morning with a stinging feeling in my eyes. Other than that, the recovery period was quite painless. At first, my night vision was not very good. Since then, it has improved greatly. It is wonderful to be able to see again. Having Lasik surgery was the best thing I ever did for myself.
What were the most valuable and rememberable experiences at Dream Eye Clinic?
Dream Eye Clinic has very friendly staff. Throughout all the tests, everything was fully explained to me. Some of the tests I had had during exams for glasses, but I had no idea what the tests were for. The Dream Eye Clinic staff made me feel very comfortable before, during, and after surgery.
Finally, what else do you want to tell us (our medical staffs, doctors, and nurses)? (Anything is OK including some of your wishes that may inform us to improve ourselves.)
Before coming to Korea, I really wanted to have Lasik. When I first arrived, I had a strong desire to have the surgery here because I knew that the care would be comparable to, if not better than, the care I would receive in America. My Lasik surgery experience is one of the best memories I have had while in Korea.
