A few years ago, I developed an allergic reaction to the protein build-up on my contact lenses. After months of treatments, I was able to wear contacts again for short periods of time, but mostly wore my glasses due to the fear of experiencing another reaction. The pain of the reaction combined with my frustration of wearing glasses everyday made my daily struggle to see something I dreaded each morning.
After hearing about many good experiences with Dream Eye, I decided to go for a consultation and find out if it would be possible to have LASEK so I would be able to see clearly without my glasses or contacts. Aside from being concerned about the surgery, my biggest worry was being able to communicate clearly with those around me at the doctor's office. From the first day I met Susan, Choo, and Dr. Lee, I knew I was in good hands.
During the consultation, I mentioned that I was very anxious about the surgery. Choo took note and mentioned my fear to Dr. Lee so he would make sure to explain everything that was happening during the procedure. The morning of the surgery, I felt very nervous. As I was being prepped for the procedure, my nerves got the best of me and I asked everyone in the surgery room to stop and let me sit up for a minute. The staff let me sit up and calm myself for a bit. As I laid back down, Susan came into the room and asked if I wanted her to hold my hand throughout the procedure. Dr. Lee came into the room, asked if I was ok, and calmly walked me through each step of the surgery so I always knew what was happening to me. Choo checked on my immediately afterwards to make sure I was ok. I laughed ask I told him that Scaredy Cat survived. Any surgery can be scary, but surgery on my eyes was overwhelming for me. The staff took extra steps to make sure I was comfortable and has always gone beyond what is expected to make sure that I am ok. If I had been at any other facility, I think my fears would have gotten thebest of me and I would have walked away without the surgery. I cannot say enough good things about my experience with the kind people at Dream Eye.
I recently had my 3 month check up and my sight is currently 20/13. I had no idea what good vision actually was until Dr. Lee fixed my eyes. If you are planning to have the procedure, there is no one who can take as much care of you as the staff at Dream Eye.
