Eye surgery is something that I have wanted to do for quite some time before coming to Korea. I had grown tired of waking up every morning for the past 25 years and frantically searching for my glasses to clear the hazy shapes from my vision. Like everyone from a foreign country, I was a little apprehensive about getting surgery in another country. Some Korean co-workers had their eye surgery with Dream Centre in Gangnam and they finally convinced me to go in to visit them.
I had some major concerns and criteria before getting eye surgery done. I used to be a competitve wrestler and knew that I needed a surgery that would allow me to continue to participate in that sport. I also was concerned with the practical fear that everyone has; will I be able to see after getting surgery or would my vision become worse? I reviewed the literature that the Dream Center provided me with and discovered that LasEK surgery was what was right for me. I found it incredible to believe that my surgeon had performed so many procedures and the success rates which were reported. Also the information on the technology was more than reassuring. This place was completely up-to-date on all techniques and equipment.
The staff was extremely friendly. The Dream Center has staff that speak English fluently and they were friendly and extremely supportive from the comprehensive 2 hour initial eye exam and consultation to the follow up visits after the surgery. They did not leave me alone for two seconds with any concern. The staff could answer any question with facility and understanding. Within a week of my consultation, I had my eye surgery.
I went alone to the surgery and throughout every step of the process, but I did not feel alone. Dr. Dong-Seong Lee performed my surgery with confidence and he was always inquiring as to my comfort. The surgical procedure took place right in the offices. I had never undergone surgery of any type before, and was extremely impressed with the cleanliness of the operation area. The entire surgery took less than half an hour! Of course my vision was blurry, but I was used to that.
Its now been 3 months since my surgery and I have better than 20/20 vision in both eyes! For anyone considering eye surgery look no further than Dream Center in Gangnam!!! They receive better than top marks in all areas of the surgery, staff and facilities.
