Christopher
I've had my surgery (LASEK) on the 24th of February and have been extremely satisfied with it. Prior to that I used to wear glasses and I couldn't see a thing without.
I was myself recommended the Dream Eye Center so I headed there. I was anxious at first (who isn't when it's about your eyes) but everything was handled very professionally. The consultation in order to know if one is eligible is free, which is pretty sweet. Many tests are performed and the staff and surgeon gets to know your eye in great detail. The assistants really show and explain what the different tests do and show the results.
The surgery itself was painless and quick. I was already able to read a sign without glasses, which was unimaginable before.
The recovery takes time and one should be very cautious about it and follow the rules. First the light sensitivity comes back then the vision improves. Eye endurance improves gradually over a longer time I've noticed.
I did close to nothing for a whole week and looking back it was worth it. Listen to radio/podcasts/music all day long and you're set. It can and will get boring but it is worth it.
The transition for me of wearing glasses to not wearing them is so natural I never think I forgot them anymore. I feel so relieved I don't need them anymore. Of course there are check ups after surgery to monitor how the eyes are going so I'm confident if any problem arises it'll be taken care of quickly. The staff and especially English speaking is responsive and you can go back to the center at any time. Fortunately I didn't need to but there is the possibility.
Apparently the surgery is on the slightly pricier side but frankly you don't want to be cheap on eye care and follow up. I've already told people around me who are interested in getting LASEK that I recommended the Dream Eye Center without a doubt. Once the fear of getting eye surgery is past you, there is only one step left : just do it.
