I found the dream eye center to go above and beyond what I had expected of a LASIK/EK eye clinic. As a very cautious, skeptical I had done extensive research on the LASIK and LASEK processes and found this center to be the best. The operation itself is not as risky or scary as you'd first imagine. Personally, I had run different scenarios in my head. Things like what would happen if I go back to the US, what would happen if i go blind, what if they mess up? To my demise, these were all very irrelevant concerns. Dr. Lee and Mr. Choo were very caring and informed my perspective regarding this type of surgery without any kind of pressure. They both speak English VERY well and there will be nothing lost in translation. They will make sure you know what you're getting into (which, again, is not that big of a surgery).
In the end I decided to get the LASEK surgery done. The price is unmatched in the states. What would cost around 3-4 thousand DOLLARS back home, costed less than the 2 thousand dollar equivalent here at dream eye. Without hesitation, I would recommend this place for any foreigners or even the native Koreans here. It is a very legitimate place and the integrity of the nature of this job is upheld here. I've already referred 3 other friends to get their surgery here, and their testimonies resound to what I have just said here.
I wouldn't worry too much about this surgery. It is relatively simple. The surgery itself took only about 10-15 minutes even though they said it would take 20. The tests they run are extensive and very thorough. They will test you twice before your actual surgery so you have nothing to fear. If you're thinking of getting laser eye surgery AT ALL, don't cut yourself short from this opportunity. It's worth well beyond the 1,700,000 Won that I paid. Everyday I wake up with everything clear and in focus, and there's not a day I regret having my eyes done. I play sports frequently, and this has definitely made a change in the way I play, see, and carry myself.
